Candy or what?
No, I didn’t buy this Mooer product from China because I like to eat candies – although I definitely do. Many of the floor pedals have a not-so-great toggle switch. Classic examples of this are the pedals from MXR, Electro Harmonix or TC Electronic. Not every effect pedal company offers a wide foot switch, like Boss or Ibanez do. And this is where the Mooer Candy Footswitch Topper comes in.
Scope of delivery and functionality
Supplied are 10 round plastic caps, which are available in 10 bright colors. Yellow, orange, red, pink, lilac, purple, blue, black, white and green. You clip the caps, simply on the switch button of the effect device.
Handling of the Mooer Candy Footswitch Topper
The caps from Mooer fit ideally on effect pedals such as those from TC Electronic or MXR. The up and down is no problem and can be done without much effort. Even after repeated back and forth, the caps still sit perfectly. No wobbling or wearing out has been detected so far.
One thus clearly increases the area to turn the pedal on and off. About the color selection of the Mooer Candy Footswitch Topper can be argued with certainty. For me, it fits. The caps are very sturdy for plastic elements. Of course, caps made of metal would be even better, but the price-performance ratio speaks here clearly for Mooer.
In any case, I can now dance around barefoot or in socks on the pedals without any problems at home – or even on stage, who likes it – without piercing the sole of my foot. The different colors additionally provide some orientation on the board, which can be very helpful.
